Apple AirPods Max - Bleu Ciel

My old Sony XM4’s finally bit the dust after 4 years of faithful service, as much as I loved them I was forever tinkering with the EQ to get the perfect sound, so when looking for a new set of cans my spec was great sound with minimal input from my end, well the APM hit the spot. They look the part, Starlight being an absolutely beautiful colour almost like a faint rose gold, with an off white head band. They’re not the lightest but the band provides great support, they’re not heavy on the head, feel rock solid, with the fabric covered cups being gentle on the lugs but providing a great seal at the same time. The 2 control buttons are simple and intuitive to use. Sound wise I’m in the Apple ecosystem, so connectivity is instaneous and the experience out of the box opens a new sonic world, yet it can be improved by turning on headphone accommodations in the settings and following the instructions taking the sound to a whole new level. ANC is effective, Spatial Audio I can take or leave, although it does provide a good if different audio experience. All in all they’re a top notch set of cans, they’re pricey but when you listen and use them you’ll understand why you’ve spent the few extra pounds. The only issue is the on/off aspect, they don’t don’t do either, they’re always on, even when in the “case”, albeit they don’t lose too much power when in the case generally 1% per day, so hardly game breaking, the bonus being when taken out of the case they’re good to go immediately. The case offers very little protection, so consider getting a 3rd party case to up the protection ratio. Case apart however, they are a great buy and sonically up with the best.
